01What it does
Community connector for 1Password via a service account: vault listing, item CRUD, secure notes, password generation and rotation, vault audit prompts, and an op_run tool that resolves op:// references into a command's environment so secrets never land in the model transcript. Security-first defaults (metadata-only reads unless you opt in with reveal:true). Not an official 1Password product.
02How to connect
Claude
Add "npx -y @takescake/1password-mcp" to your Claude config with an "OP_SERVICE_ACCOUNT_TOKEN" env var (or store the token in macOS Keychain via OP_KEYCHAIN_SERVICE). Create a 1Password Service Account with access to only the vault(s) you want the AI to touch; the maintainer recommends dedicated automation vaults rather than your whole account.
