Anthropic's official reference filesystem connector: gives an assistant scoped, configurable read/write access to local folders you list, with directory listings, file read/write, search, and move operations. The canonical way to let Claude work with files on your own machine in an evening.
02How to connect
Claude
Add "npx -y @modelcontextprotocol/server-filesystem" to your Claude config with the directories you want to allow as arguments (e.g. "/Users/username/Desktop"). Only the folders you name are accessible; no credentials needed.
