01What it does

connector for self-hosted Mealie, the recipe manager and meal planner: search and read recipes with ingredients and steps, import from URLs/HTML/images, manage tags/categories/foods/units, plan meals, build shopping lists from plans, and record what was cooked. 52 curated tools (dangerous admin routes deliberately unreachable); read-only mode and an 8-tool essential preset keep the model reliable, and destructive actions ask for confirmation via connector elicitation.

02How to connect

Claude

Add "npx -y @ni-c/mealie-mcp" to your Claude config with "MEALIE_URL" and "MEALIE_API_TOKEN" env vars (token from Mealie Settings -> API Tokens). Set "MEALIE_READ_ONLY=true" for read-only access or "MEALIE_ALLOW_TOOLS=essential" for the curated 8-tool subset.
