01What it does
The Google Drive connector lets Claude and ChatGPT search your Drive, read file contents, and cite documents in answers. Claude can also save files it generates directly to your Drive. In ChatGPT it powers chat search, deep research, and synced content over your documents. Also available as a connector for Perplexity. Also available as a connector for Grok.
02How to connect
Claude
In Claude, click the + button in the chat box or go to Settings, choose Google Drive, and sign in with your Google account. Requires a paid Claude plan.
ChatGPT
In ChatGPT, open the Plugins Directory, find the plugin that includes Google Drive, select Connect, and sign in with your Google account.
Perplexity
In Perplexity, open Settings (or Computer) > Connectors, click Enable next to Google Drive, authenticate via OAuth, then select the specific files to sync with Perplexity. For the Agent API: add Google Drive on your Project's connectors page in the API Console, copy the connector ID (connector_googledrive), and reference it as type 'connector' in requests.
Grok
1. Go to grok.com/connectors. 2. Click New Connector and select Google Drive. 3. Complete the OAuth sign-in flow. No configuration beyond sign-in is required.
